Oasis Counseling for Women and Children – Birmingham, AL (Southside)
Oasis Counseling is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our clinical team. This position provides outpatient counseling to adult clients experiencing a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, grief, and relational challenges. Our agency serves underserved and diverse populations, and we are committed to providing compassionate, accessible, and culturally responsive care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized, measurable treatment plans in collaboration with clients, in accordance with ethical and regulatory standards.
- Provide evidence-based individual, family, couples, and group counseling as appropriate.
- Maintain an assigned caseload while meeting agency productivity expectations.
- Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and risk assessments when clinically indicated.
- Make appropriate referrals and coordinate care with outside providers and community resources.
- Facilitate successful client discharge and aftercare planning.
- Collaborate with clinical team members and participate in case consultation.
- Support the agency’s mission to expand access to quality mental health care for underserved populations through outreach initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet documentation deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to establish therapeutic rapport with diverse populations.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer applications.
